Data Capture Solution
Our client was concerned that their existing paper-based
filing system for keeping nurse records was becoming too
unwieldy. Once they had specified exactly what information
they wanted to computerise a simple MS Access application
was written to allow easy entry and maintenance. Simple
reports on this data were written to allow more efficient
management of nurse registration.
Booking Solution
A client arranged the booking of nurses to shifts in hospitals
by simply noting their availability in a diary and then
marking the destination ward and shift times alongside
the nurse's entry in the diary. Any requests from hospitals
that could not be filled from nurses who had not already
called in their availability were noted on the individual
booking clerk's notebook.
Nursing Agency Solutions wrote a database-backed program
to record this information so that the full record of
bookings could be sorted and searched and used as a basis
for informating the agency's accounting department.
Timesheet-processing Solution
A client had an inflexible and poorly-supported DOS program
which captured timesheet data and printed invoices. This
program was re-written as a modern MS Windows® program
with a database 'back end'. The new program offers a wealth
of integration and reporting capabilities that were out
of reach of the old DOS system.
'LAP1' Reporting
A client was required about their reporting obligations
under LAP1 (www.londonagencyproject.org)
and their PASA contracts. We used the information already
in the databases we had developed for this client to automate
the production of this information.
